Markos.

I’m Markos, an anthropologist working in software.

Anthropology taught me to pay attention before reaching for an answer: to notice the informal work around a formal process, the meaning behind a workaround, and the different realities that can sit inside the same system.

Software gives that attention somewhere practical to go. I use research, product thinking, and making to help teams understand complex situations and build technology that fits the lives around it.

This site is both a professional home and a field notebook. It holds finished work beside tentative observations, useful references, and small experiments. The categories are porous on purpose.

How I tend to work

• Stay close to practice. What people do is often more revealing than what a process says should happen.
• Make complexity shareable. A good map lets a team disagree about the same thing.
• Build to learn. Prototypes are questions with edges.
• Care for what comes after. Maintenance, handover, and unintended effects belong inside the design.
